Bayern Munich: Bouna Sarr will not be moving to Turkey
The transfer window has been closed across top leagues in Europe, but clubs in few countries in Europe are still allowed to do business. Turkey is one of the few countries that have one week longer transfer window. Bayern Munich has one player in Bouna Sarr that has been attracting interest from Turkey.
According to Footmercato, Sarr is looking unlikely to leave Bavaria for Turkey. Besiktas is the Turkish club that has been heavily linked with a move for the French defender. The German Champions are open to offers for Sarr, but he is unlikely to leave Germany in the next couple of days.
Sarr has been reportedly reluctant to leave Bavaria without putting up a good fight for a place in the starting XI this season. The 29-year-old defender is currently the third choice option in the right-back position at Die Roten.
The French full-back arrived in Bavaria along with numerous players in the final week of the transfer window in 2020. He was brought in to provide cover for Benjamin Pavard. However, Hansi Flick used him sporadically, while injury problems made things worse for Sarr during his debut season in the Bundesliga.

Even though Flick left the club this summer, Sarr’s situation remained unchanged. The German Champions had reportedly listed him amongst five players that they were ready to part ways this summer. However, Sarr rejected all possible transfer solutions, which included offers from Italy and France.
Sarr would have hoped to get playing time at the start of the season as Pavard was ruled out for weeks due to a serious injury. However, Julian Nagelsmann decided to give first-team chances to Josip Stanisic in the right-back position. The Croatian defender has not let the manager down by delivering good performances in the first month of the season.
The desire to fight for a place in the team by Sarr is commendable. However, it is looking hugely unlikely that he will get consistent playing time at Bayern this season. After the current international break, Pavard will be available for selection in a week’s time. There is a good chance that Sarr will be an unused substitute for the majority of games until the January transfer window.

If things don’t change drastically, Sarr may have to look for a transfer in the winter transfer window. The length of his contract and wages at Die Roten does suggest that the January transfer window will probably open loan avenues for Sarr if he doesn’t manage to convince Nagelsmann.
