GERMANTOWN, WI (CBS 58) - After winning a state title earlier in the year, Germantown junior Kamorea "KK" Arnold now adds gold medalist to her resume.

"It felt really good, especially Canada being one of the big rivals," said KK Arnold.

Arnold and Team USA rolled through the FIBA Americas Championship defeating Canada in the gold medal game by 118-45. It's the third straight gold for Team USA in the event and the first for Arnold. Arnold averaged 5.4 points playing in 5 of the team's 6 games. She missed a game with an ankle injury.

"I think I played really good throughout the tournament," said Arnold. "Then when you come out, you just be grateful and watch your teammates go. that was the easiest part just cheering on your teammates, being the hype man for them."

Arnold practiced and played with some of the best girls basketball players in the country...she says she gained a lot from the unique opportunity.

"It was really good experience especially playing against other teams, just the way you have to carry yourself representing USA through the hotel. the other teams are just walking by everything. it was good to be in that type of environment just to get used to that when get older," said Arnold. "It was overall good experience."

Arnold would welcome another chance to suit up with the U17 team the next time around, but she's already thinking about the next piece of hardware.

"Just keep working out before the next high school season starts, got a state championship to defend. So be working on that," said Arnold with a smile.
