The teen had no underlying conditions and was about to start a new semester at Navarro College before she was struck down by the bug.

Breanna's mom, Tabitha Gray, told of the last time she spoke to her daughter as she tried to calm her down after doctors told her she'd need to go on a ventilator.

"You just hear her screaming through the mask for me, and that was the last time," the grieving mom told Fox4.

"And the last voice I heard is her yelling for me in her mask.

"For me not being there to help my baby or be there is the worst feeling in the entire world."

When Breanna caught Covid and her parents, none of her family had been vaccinated - a decision Tabitha now desperately regrets.
