The Boston Red Sox have added two more players to their COVID-19-related injured list, including Sunday's scheduled starting pitcher.Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom announced Sunday that the team placed right-handed pitcher Nick Pivetta and utility player Danny Santana on the COVID-19 IL.Pivetta and Santana become the 10th and 11th Boston players, respectively, to land on the COVID injured list, joining All-Star shortstop Xander Bogaerts, All-Star closer Matt Barnes, utility player Enrique "Kiké" Hernández, rookie outfielder Jarren Duran, infielder Christian Arroyo, left-handed pitcher Josh Taylor, right-handed pitcher Hirokazu Sawamura, left-handed pitcher Martín Pérez, and infielder Yairo Muñoz.The 28-year-old Pivetta has made 26 starts for the Red Sox this season and has posted a 9-7 win-loss record with a 4.67 earned run average and 151 strikeouts in 135 innings pitches. In five of his starts, he threw at least five innings, allowed two hits or fewer and surrendered zero runs.Pivetta was scheduled to start Sunday's series finale against the Cleveland Indians at Fenway Park.To fill his spot on the roster, the Red Sox have called up right-handed pitcher Kutter Crawford from Triple-A Worcester. Crawford started in Pivetta's place in what was his major league debut.Crawford allowed four runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts in two innings pitched against the Indians. He pitched into the third inning but did not record an out after allowing a home run to start the frame and walking the next batter. The 25-year-old, a 16th-round Boston draft pick in 2017, has a career minor league record of 17-20 with a 3.56 ERA and 308 2/3 innings pitched in 63 appearances, including 62 starts.Crawford began the 2021 season with Double-A Portland before making his Triple-A debut in July. The Florida native most recently pitched on Aug. 27, when he got a victory over Buffalo by allowing one unearned run on one hit with eight strikeouts and zero walks in six innings.Santana has played in 35 games for the Red Sox this season and has batted .168 with two doubles, one triple, four home runs and 13 runs batted in. He has made 12 starts in center field, 11 at first base, two in left field and two at designated hitter.The 30-year-old signed with the Red Sox on March 7 but didn't make his Boston debut until May 21 because he needed to rehab from a foot infection that sidelined him during spring training, as well as an arm surgery he underwent in September 2020. He landed on the injured list with a left quad strain on July 9 and played just two games before landing on the IL with a left groin strain on July 22. He was activated from the injured list on Sept. 1 and played two games with Boston before landing on the COVID IL Sunday.Franchy Cordero, who was acquired by the Red Sox in the Andrew Benintendi trade, has been called up from Triple-A Worcester to fill Santana's spot on the active roster.Cordero has appeared in 47 games with Boston this season, batting .189 with six doubles, one home run and nine RBI. He made 27 starts in left field, eight at first base, one in right field and one at DH for the Sox.In 58 games with Worcester, the 27-year-old has batted .309 with seven home runs and nine stolen bases.

Franchy Cordero, who was acquired by the Red Sox in the Andrew Benintendi trade, has been called up from Triple-A Worcester to fill Santana's spot on the active roster.

Cordero has appeared in 47 games with Boston this season, batting .189 with six doubles, one home run and nine RBI. He made 27 starts in left field, eight at first base, one in right field and one at DH for the Sox.

In 58 games with Worcester, the 27-year-old has batted .309 with seven home runs and nine stolen bases.
