QPR demand massive £12m for goalkeeper Seny Dieng amid Sheffield United transfer interest

QPR are asking a stunning £12million for keeper Seny Dieng after seeing off interest in him.

Sheffield United wanted him but Rangers would not sell to a rival unless the figure was high.

United kept tabs on Dieng ever since they sold starting goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to Arsenal in a £24million deal.

The QPR shot-stopper impressed in the Championship last season and even attracted interest from the Premier League.

The 26-year-old made a total of 43 appearances across all competitions last term and picked up his first Senegal cap in March.

Dieng joined the Rs from Duisburg in 2016 and underwent several loan stints to Whitehawk, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Stevenage, Dundee and Doncaster Rovers.

Upon his return in 2020, the Senegal international quickly established himself as Mark Warburton's starting goalkeeper.

QPR had a busy summer transfer window as they re-signed Charlie Austin, who had just left West Brom and was joined by former team-mate Sam Field.

The Rangers also brought in Jordy de Wijs, Andre Dozzell, Jordan Archer, Sam McCallum and Jimmy Dunne from Hull, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Norwich and Burnley respectively.

They were joined by Stefan Johansen from Fulham, ex-Sheffield Wednesday ace Moses Odubajo, former Watford star Andre Gray and Luis Longstaff on loan from Liverpool.

United, on the other hand, only completed loan signings as they signed Ben Davies, Conor Hourihane, Morgan Gibbs-White and Alex Collado from Liverpool, Aston Villa, Wolves and Barcelona respectively.

The Blades also landed Robin Olsen on loan from Roma, which means they could already have Ramsdale's replacement.
