Free PS Plus games for September to be outdone by PlayStation rival?

Sony dominates its PlayStation Plus service this year with several high-profile free games among its number.

So far this year, PS Plus subscribers have been able to download and play titles like Control, Days Gone, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

And while some fans aren’t always looking forward to playing the biggest AAA games every month, as they may already own them, September has made for an interesting mix.

On September 7, gamers can enjoy Overcooked: All You Can Eat!, Hitman 2 and Predator: Hunting Grounds.

They can’t quite compete with first-party exclusives or PS5-upgraded games, but a recent poll revealed that most fans were happy with what’s on offer.

September is also the month when Sony could choose to prioritize one of its other services that are usually overshadowed.

The PlayStation Now streaming service is slowly expanding its list of features and games with a great lineup that can be played over an internet connection.

And on Monday, Sony will announce the full list of games in preparation for September 2021.

The question is whether the tech giant has chosen to add some big names to PS Now instead of PS Plus.

There are all kinds of ways PS Now could be the winner in September, with plenty of titles still not being included as part of the streaming service.

We already know that one game will make its debut later this month, featuring the original Final Fantasy 7, the first of many FF titles coming to PS Now.

A Sony message explains: “Relive the thrills of the Final Fantasy worlds in some of the franchise’s most iconic adventures.

“Starting next week, we’ll be adding a chapter of this much-loved RPG series to PlayStation Now every month, starting with Final Fantasy VII (the original game!) on September 7. Until January 2022, we will be adding a new chapter every month. from the Final Fantasy series to PlayStation Now, so you can download or stream these titles on your PS4 or PS5 console, or stream on PC.”

But things get interesting on September 6 when Sony reveals its full plans for PS Now and what games will come with FF7.

Sony has already confirmed that some major games will be leaving the PlayStation Now service this month.

One of the first is The Witcher 3, with the popular RPG disappearing from the list on September 7.

Borderlands 3 will follow later in the month and more titles will disappear in November, including Judgment and Red Dead Redemption 2.
