LEWISBURG, Pa. –
The Bucknell women's tennis team will be well-represented in the Bucknell Invitational finals after another strong day on Saturday. Three singles players and three doubles tandems are headed to Sunday's finals, highlighted by Bison vs. Bison matchups at first singles and second doubles.

Senior Daniela Bellini and freshman Whitney King have both reached the final in the top singles flight after winning twice on Saturday. Bellini won a first-set tiebreaker from Valeria Vinces of Saint Francis (Pa.), then cruised 6-1 in the second set. Bellini dropped her first set of the tournament to Lafayette's Olivia Boeckman, but she stormed back to win 1-6, 6-4, 10-8 to stay alive in the main draw.

King had a much easier path to the final. She blanked Dominique Yeo of Saint Francis 6-0, 6-0, then secured another straight-set win, 7-5, 6-3 over Niagara's Elena Mayot.

Sophomore Laurel Utterback posted two one-sided, straight-set wins to get to the final at second singles. Utterback beat Lafayette's Elenore Campbell 6-0, 6-4 and Saint Francis' Marie Discini 6-3, 6-1, and now she will face Bente Vandeputte of the Red Flash on Sunday.

Bellini and King are not only in the first singles final, but they will partner in the first doubles championship as well. They beat Mayet and Gamble from Niagara 6-1 in the semis and will play the Saint Francis tandem of Yeo and Pruijimboom on Sunday.

The second doubles final will be all Orange and Blue, with Utterback and freshman Anna Lajos going up against sophomore Kate Novak and freshman Caroline Marcus.

Several other Bison are still going in the consolation draws. Junior Dax Seidlin picked up two straight-set wins on Saturday in the first singles flight. Lajos move up into the first singles bracket and won a three-set thriller over Maureen McCormack of Lafayette, capped by an 11-9 third-set tiebreak.

Novak and Marcus also won twice each at second singles. Novak prevailed in one of the longest matches of the tournament thus far, 5-7, 7-6 (4), 10-7 over Najisa Miyake of Saint Francis. Marcus won her back draw contests 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-0.

The tournament concludes on Sunday, with play starting at 9 a.m. at the Varsity Tennis Courts.
