Brandon Nimmo exits Mets’ game with right hamstring tightness

While the Mets got off to a great start in the first game of their doubleheader against the Nationals today, scoring six runs in the first two innings, they were dealt some bad news in the process, as Brandon Nimmo left the game in the middle of the second inning.

The Mets announced that Nimmo left the game because of right hamstring tightness. Replays shown on SNY looked like Nimmo suffered the injury just before rounding third base while attempting to score on a ball hit by Michael Conforto with two outs in the inning. Nimmo also slipped on third base earlier in the game, but he appeared to be fine in the interim.
