Following Friday night’s win over the Reds, the Detroit Tigers announced they had optioned INF Zack Short to Triple-A Toledo.
Just moments ago, the Tigers announced they have called up RHP Drew Carlton from Toledo as a corresponding move.
Carlton, who is 25, was the Tigers’ 32nd-round pick in 2017. He has posted a 3.12 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over 49 innings this season.
The Tigers have announced the following roster move:

The Tigers 40-man roster is now at 38.
