Claremont-based Inland Valley Repertory Theatre’s Camp IVRT is offering in-person musical theater and choir classes for students ages 7-13, beginning Oct. 4.

Mini Camp IVRT classes will combine singing, acting and movement, with students working as a team. Students will read scripts and scenes aloud, focusing on reading with emotion and expression, and the classes feature songs from Broadway musicals.

Students will perform in a recital and possibly at a community event. This class may be repeated, as new repertoire is taught each session.

In addition to Mini Camp IVRT, enrollment is also open for “I love Chorus” classes. Students will sing traditional folk songs, contemporary pop songs and songs from Broadway musicals. Students will learn to improve vocal technique and will have the opportunity to perform in concerts.

“We’re so excited about these youth programs in collaboration with Claremont Community School of Music,” Donna Marie Minano, co-founder of Inland Valley Repertory Theatre and instructor for the classes, said in a news release.

All classes will meet Monday evenings at the Claremont Community School of Music, 951 W. Foothill Blvd., and COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed.
