Drama might not be over between NASCAR drivers Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell as they head into the Playoffs
Weeks ago, Kyle Larson dove to the inside of Christopher Bell in turn one at Watkins Glen International. Bell pinched him (though Bell claims otherwise) and the two drivers made contact.
Bell spun out an it impacted his day. After the race, Larson sent a midnight text that went ignored.

The next day, Larson was asked about the communication between the two following the accident. Larson detailed the unanswered text and questioned if Bell had plans to retaliate.
Bell later commented on Bell stating he was ‘crying to media’ about the text that went ignored. The two drivers attempted to call each other soon after, both were busy and the calls went unanswered.
Since the incident, the NASCAR Cup Series has raced on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, Michigan International Speedway and Daytona International Speedway. None of those tracks provided an opportunity for fireworks.
Now, both drivers are heading into the NASCAR Playoffs and things still might boil to the surface…

After last week’s regular-season finale, Larson was declared the regular-season champion. He now heads into the first race of the Playoffs as the favorite.
“It’s been a long time since that, I don’t even know why we’re still talking about it,” Kyle Larson said during media day for the NASCAR Playoffs.
Larson added, “But yeah, I’m looking forward to the playoffs and I know he is, too. He’s got a great car; I’ve got a great car. It’s both of ours’ best opportunities to go chase a championship.”

Christopher Bell
The two drivers were once good friends who chase dirt tracks. Now, they still haven’t communicated since the incident.
“I mean, we haven’t communicated,” Bell stated this week during NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Media Day. “I guess that’s that.”
The opening round of the playoffs opens at Darlingtom Raceway, Richmond Raceway and Bristol Motor Speedway. Two of the three are short tracks, known for getting even in these types of scenarios.
Does Bell intend to show aggression with Larson in the coming races?
Bell explained, “I mean, I don’t know. The opportunity hasn’t presented itself yet,” Bell said. “We haven’t raced around each other yet. So, I don’t know.”
Earlier this year, Larson drove from the back of the field to the top 5 on the Bristol Dirt Track. As soon as he got there, Bell spun out on his own, collecting Larson before the end of stage one. Both drivers basically ended their day in the crash.
