In 2020 a lot of events were either flat out cancelled or went to virtual due to the global pandemic.  While there is another surge with the Delta variant of the virus, many are pressing on with in-person events with precautions in place of course.

An upcoming event in the Twin Ports that is happening in-person for their 4th annual event is the Walk for Recovery.  It will be on Saturday, September 11th from 1:00PM-7:00PM at Duluth's Leif Erikson Park.  It's not just six hours of walking though, there is plenty for the whole family to be part of at the event.

The purpose of the walk is to help celebrate the gains made by those in recovery and provide education for our community on substance use treatments and mental health services.  It's free to attend and on the list for the day of course the walk is included.  There will also be plenty of food, various fun activities for everyone to participate in, recovery speakers, and there will be live music too.

For the whole month of September which is Recovery Month, there are VISA gift card drawings you can participate in too.  Just snap a pic of yourself wearing a "Recovery is Real" shirt and post it on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtags: #recoveryisRAD, #recoveryisEVERYWHERE, and #recoveryisREAL.  You can get more information on this event including the full schedule for the day, and all of the other associated events happening in the month of September HERE.  They also have a Facebook event page located HERE.
