After nearly two years, Iowa football fans are returning to Kinnick Stadium for Saturday’s home opener vs. Indiana.
And this year brings a lot of changes: No paper tickets, cash won’t be accepted at concessions stands and paid parking lots (credit or debit cards only), and beer and alcohol will be sold in the stadium for the first time.
Here’s what you need to know about game day in Iowa City:
Digital tickets and parking passes
All parking passes and tickets for home games will now be accessed on mobile devices, delivered via email or text message, according to the university’s athletics website. Printed PDF tickets and parking passes will not be accepted on game day.
Fans are encouraged to download their tickets and parking passes to the mobile wallet on their smartphones or watches before arriving at Kinnick, where cellular service can be spotty on game day.
For directions on how to access digital tickets, visit this how-to page from the university.

COVID rules and masking
The Iowa City mask mandate recently put in place does not apply to Kinnick Stadium and other UI athletics facilities, the university says. The UI strongly encourages fans to wear face masks, but they are not required.
Fans also are not required to be vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before entering the stadium.
