Since defeating Tyron Woodley via split decision in Cleveland, Jake Paul has declared his hit list.
High on the priority list is current boxing pound-for-pound king Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
While out in Los Angeles, Canelo was asked to consider Jake Paul, and he left the door open for a fight.
Alvarez’ response when asked whether or not he would fight Jake Paul, left fans salivating over the possibilities when he didn’t shoot the idea down right away.
When asked in Spanish by a paparazzi, “What do you think of Jake Paul? Are you gonna give him a chance?” Canelo responded, “Not right now.”
New Rules
That’s not a definitive no as many boxing die-hards would have expected. Jake Paul’s transition from social media star to boxer-entertainer has been a unique one.
The 24-year-old Paul (3-0, 3 K.O.s) is a world-renowned content creator.
He began his professional boxing journey in January 2020. Paul has proven to be an influential participant in the sport’s landscape.
In addition to bringing his outsized personality to the sport, he is adept at documenting his developing pugilistic skillset.

However, Paul has been adamant in calling out active and former champions in boxing and MMA.
Fighters like UFC welterweight champ Kamaru Usman and former champ-champ Conor McGregor have been on Paul’s hit list.
After defeating former UFC champion Tyron Woodley by split decision in late August, Paul is feeling confident.
The paparazzi went further, asking Alvarez, “Why don’t you want to give (Paul) a chance?”
Canelo responded, “He’s not ready.”
Paparazzi then asked, “Do you think (Paul) might be a good option?”
Canelo’s trainer, Eddy Reynoso, quipped, “If he wants someone to fight, we have this guy right here;” pointing to a teammate.
Alvarez, 31, was leaving restaurant Beauty & Essex in L.A. when the paparazzi bombarded him. With his status as the world’s top pound-for-pound boxer and ticket seller, a fight with Jake Paul seems unlikely. Paul is only 4-0 as a professional fighter, whereas Canelo has currently had an extensive career at its zenith.
But Paul is taking the fight game seriously.
The Cleveland-native is fighting out of Puerto Rico at present. Under the eye of former pro boxing contender B.J. Flores, Paul has gone from knocking out YouTube star AnEsonGib to a SHOWTIME Championship Boxing deal.
With Canelo Alvarez as the reigning pay-per-view and streaming king, a fight with Jake Paul, although laughable, is an option in the minds of casual fans.
