The Wisconsin football team plays their first game of the season on Saturday, and there will be a handful of prospects coming to visit and watch the big game. These visits are great for showing recruits what it is like for a game in and around Camp Randall Stadium. Between the pregame festivities all the way to the 5th Quarter, prospects get to experience the whole deal.

What’s big about this game is that this will be the first time recruits for the 2022 class will get to experience it as well. Teams couldn’t bring recruits in to visit games last year due to covid protocols.

One big prospect is visiting to watch the Wisconsin football game that a lot of people are excited about. 4-star prospect Billy Schrauth has been trending towards Wisconsin ever since the big June 4th recruiting weekend. Before that weekend, it was almost a forgone conclusion that he was Notre Dame bound. However, things changed in a big way after he got on campus with a lot of the other prospects.

Since then, everything coming out has been very pro-Wisconsin. In fact, his Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports are in favor of Wisconsin, 6-2. Tom Loy, Notre Dame’s 247Sports insider, has his pick still set for Notre Dame but has a confidence level of just ‘1,’ which is the lowest on the scale. Meanwhile, Evan Flood of Badger247 has Schrauth to Wisconsin with an ‘8’ confidence level.

Right now, the Penn State and Wisconsin football game is the only one Schrauth has scheduled. If Schrauth likes what he sees on Saturday, could he pull the trigger and commit to Wisconsin? I think it’s a possibility and something Wisconsin fans may want to keep an eye on over the weekend and into next week.

Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports’ Director of Football Recruiting predicted Schrauth would commit to Wisconsin. He made this prediction just today, the day before the big game. Maybe he knows something heading into the weekend.

A commitment from Schrauth would give the Wisconsin football team their 12th commitment of the 2022 class and would bump them from 46th nationally to 38th, according to 247Sports’ class composite rankings.

The in-state lineman would be a huge get for the Badgers, especially after how long of a shot it was to get him in the first place.
