Amanda Gorman’s whirlwind year is finishing up strong: her poetry collection Call Us What We Carry is set to release on December 7th, and this week, she’s been announced as the new face of Estée Lauder.

But that’s not all: she’s Estée Lauder’s first “Global Changemaker,” which involves not just the typical duties of representing Estée Lauder in ad campaigns and speaking events, but also working with Estée Lauder to create Writing for Change, $3 million of grants to promote literacy among girls and women.

This relationship is a three-year-deal, but if all goes well, it could be renewed. Estée Lauder declined to tell The New York Times the financial terms of theirs and Gorman’s agreement.

Said Gorman to The New York Times, “It’s no secret that one of the ways I communicate with the world is through fashion and through beauty. When you grow up with a speech impediment, one of the things you learn early on is that people will also relate to you through how you look.”
