Samsung is now projected to launch a successor to the Galaxy M21, thanks to a recent slew of leaks associated with a new model number suggesting this is indeed the case. It looks like the "M22" will turn out looking and performing much like a pre-existing 2021 smartphone; then again, this makes for potentially bargain pricing in the rumored device.

Samsung has recently refreshed the Galaxy M21 smartphone for 2021: an exercise that now looks a little pointless in the face of possible evidence of a whole next generation for the same phone. The leaks point to a new 4G/LTE-only device with appropriately affordable-class specs.

Signs of a Galaxy M22 arose with the detection of a phone called the "samsung SM-M225F" on Geekbench, followed by the appearance of the same on the FCC website. The latter affirms the lack of 5G (although NFC is present), which might be reinforced by the presence of the MediaTek Helio G80 (paired with 4GB of RAM) in the latter.

These details have sparked speculation that this "M22" is in fact a re-brand of the pre-existing A22, and, obviously, not the 5G variant either. Then again, the newer device's new FCC approval indicates that it can support 25W charging, even though it might come with a 15W charger.

Therefore, the Galaxy M22 might come with some tweaks to make its collection of specs its own after all. A recent addition to Samsung Russia's support website suggests that, should this be the case, their reveal may be just around the corner.
