By the power of fandom and the grace of a supportive streaming service, Manifest has been saved for a fourth and final season on Netflix, effectively ending the strong #SaveManifest fan campaign. Now we’re ready to see how everything that’s connected falls into place.

Following Manifest’s save by Netflix, the writers already have a planned start date on when work begins on Manifest season 4, and it’s very soon. Even though it’s far too early to anticipate a release date for the first batch of episodes, the anticipation for the 828 comeback is on.

But with Manifest coming to a new network after leaving its former home of NBC, some Manifesters might have some worries that their favorite show might suddenly change, whether in tone or structure. However, our fearless leader Jeff Rake has squashed those fears.

While chatting with Entertainment Weekly about Netflix saving the series for season 4, Rake shared details on all things from his hopeful start date for production to how the fandom carries the bragging rights for bringing the show back. Most importantly, he talked about how the show won’t change.

Manifest season 4

It’s no secret that when shows get resurrected by other networks, something can feel different about the show as a whole. Surely, Lucifer fans had similar concerns when the series moved from Fox to Netflix. But we shouldn’t stress about Manifest changing course.

As Rake told Entertainment Weekly:

"“The good news for the fans is that they can absolutely expect the same show that they’ve been watching. Netflix has been so lovely in my conversations with them so far. They’ve made it quite clear that they want us to keep making the same show that we’ve been making.”"

Of course, we didn’t expect Rake to make any shocking compromises to the storytelling style he’s established on the series, but there’s always that worry that a broadcast series shedding the limitations in favor of streaming freedom will suddenly toss in unnecessary expletives or take advantage of a longer running time.

While we wouldn’t be opposed to the episodes getting a little longer in Manifest season 4, Rake assures fans that we’re not going to be in for an abrupt tonal 180 or a jarring structural overhaul. If anything, the show will only get better with an increased budget for season 4.
