A recent Mountain Home High School graduate had her artwork displayed at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock this summer.

Ava Obert, a 2021 Mountain Home graduate, had almost 50 paintings placed on display as the governor’s artist in residence. The 18-year-old is believed to be one of the youngest artists to have their artwork displayed at the Governor’s Mansion.

A former student of local artist Duane Hada, Obert visited the Governor’s Mansion about three years ago when Hada was the featured artist in residence. Obert says that trip to Little Rock eventually led to her own show at the mansion.
