Disney Appear To Be Changing Boba Fett's Armour Now

Apparently, Boba Fett will be rifling through his wardrobe and emerging with a new armour look for the anticipated spinoff show The Book of Boba Fett, arriving on Disney+ in December.

Given how iconic the bounty hunter's armour is to his whole character, this is a little surprising. However, earlier this year, Disney announced that his ship would no longer be called Slave 1 and would be called Firespray instead. While there hasn't been an official statement on the change, it's been attributed to the company's aim to acknowledge and shed its history of racism, as films like Peter Pan, Dumbo and The Aristocats are not watchable on children's Disney+ accounts.

The response to this choice about the ship from fans was nothing short of confusion and there was even a petition to reverse the renaming. Whether there'll be the same outcry about the new armour remains to be seen.

After The Book of Boba Fett premieres, it's not long until Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is in our hands, featuring all sorts of silly Easter eggs, awesome lightsaber duels, and a jaw dropping open world. Check out the new trailer right here!

The report from Star Wars News Net claims that their "credible source" says that the storyline for the new show is going to be one of payback. "Boba Fett is in revenge mode. He will be going after everyone who did him wrong in the past, and he will also be looking for the other bounty hunters. And even more - he will be doing it with a new look to his armor!" reads the report.

It's worth mentioning that this is the same source as the tidbits about Darth Vader's new look in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Star Wars News Net shared some supposed concept art of Hayden Christensen's character suspended with tubing and supports after his encounter with Obi-Wan Kenobi. There were also two types of ventilator, suggesting that the villain might be able to learn to move about and walk again, and a bacta tank which the source states has been seen on set.

Nevertheless, none of this has been officially confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm, so we shouldn't take what's been said as gospel. Considering the other changes that Boba Fett has undergone in recent reports, it's not totally out of the question, though.
