USA Men Defeat Germany 10-8 To Reach Quarterfinals At FINA Junior World Championship

Prague, Czech Republic - September 2- The USA Men's Junior National Team advanced to the quarterfinal round at the FINA Junior World Championship with a 10-8 win over Germany earlier today. Nico Tierney and Christian Hosea scored three goals each to lead the USA attack with Adrian Weinberg recording 11 saves in net. Team USA now takes on Montenegro on Friday in quarterfinal play at 2pm et/11am pt. The two sides were even through the first before Germany took charge in the second carrying a 6-4 lead into halftime. Team USA flipped the script in the third quarter outscoring Germany 4-0 to take an 8-6 edge into the fourth quarter. In the fourth Team USA went ahead 9-6 early on a Hosea goal. Germany scored two straight to make it a one-goal game with less than two minutes to play. Hosea came back to close out any comeback attempts from Germany with his third goal with just 1:16 left in the match to give Team USA the 10-8 win.
