Damiris Dantas of Minnesota Lynx ruled out for remainder of season

Minnesota Lynx forward Damiris Dantas will miss the remainder of the WNBA season due to a Lisfranc injury to her right foot, the team said Thursday.

Dantas won't need surgery on the injury, which occurred in the team's victory Tuesday over New York.

Dantas, a 28-year-old from Brazil, had started 20 games for the Lynx, who are 17-9 heading after Thursday's win against Los Angeles and already clinched a spot in the playoffs. She was averaging 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

This is Dantas' seventh WNBA season. She also played for the Atlanta Dream.

The Lynx also were without guard Layshia Clarendon, who is out indefinitely due to a right-tibia stress reaction, but center Sylvia Fowles, who missed Tuesday's game with a shoulder injury, was back to face the Sparks.
