Cal Finalizes 2021-22 Non-Conference Schedule
Golden Bears To Play Eight Of 11 Non-Conference Games In Berkeley
BERKELEY, Calif. – Eight home contests at Haas Pavilion and a trip to the Sunshine State for the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off highlight California's 11-game 2021-22 men's basketball non-conference schedule, which was finalized Thursday.
Â
Following an exhibition game vs. Cal State LA (Nov. 1), the Golden Bears open the regular season at home against UC San Diego on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Cal's only true road game in non-conference play will take place four days later on Saturday, Nov. 13 at UNLV in Las Vegas.
Â
Upon returning to Berkeley, Cal will host consecutive home games against San Diego (Nov. 15) and Southern Utah (Nov. 18), the latter being a Fort Myers Tip-Off-affiliated contest. The Bears then head east for
a pair of games at the Fort Myers Tip-Off, where they will face Florida (Nov. 22) and Ohio State or Seton Hall (Nov. 24) at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College.
Â
Prior to a two-game dip into Pac-12 Conference play in early December, Cal will welcome Fresno State to Bear Territory on Nov. 28. The non-conference slate concludes with four straight home contests against Idaho State (Dec. 8), Santa Clara (Dec. 11), Dartmouth (Dec. 19) and Pacific (Dec. 22).
Â
Guiding the Bears through the 11-game non-conference schedule is head coach
Mark Fox, entering his third season at Cal's helm. Cal is 13-10 overall in non-conference play and 10-2 in non-conference home games under Fox since the start of the 2019-20 campaign. The Bears are 72-38 all-time against their 10 confirmed non-conference opponents – the Ohio State/Seton Hall matchup on Nov. 24 will be determined based on the Fort Myers Tip-Off semifinals results – and own a winning record against nine of the 10. Cal faced UNLV (79-75 OT win), Santa Clara (71-52 loss) and Fresno State (69-63 win) in 2019-20 under Fox.
Â
The Bears' weekly Pac-12 matchups and site designations were
announced on Aug. 19, with specific dates and times for each game to be unveiled later this summer. The conference office has publicized two early-season contests already; Cal will host Oregon State on Dec. 2 before traveling to face Utah on Dec. 5.

All non-conference game times will be announced at a later date. Visit
