Lil Nas X Is Ready to Give Birth to His New Album in Hilarious ‘Pregnancy’ Pics

Lil Nas X has got a bun in his oven in a new set of teaser photos posted to his social media on Thursday (Sept. 2).

In a post to his Twitter, the rapper shared photos of himself, decked out in a long, white lace robe, a flower crown and a bouquet of white roses, holding what looked like his own pregnant belly. Spoofing on pregnancy announcement posts, Lil Nas captioned the post, letting his fans know the exciting news. “SURPRISE! I can’t believe i’m finally announcing this,” he wrote. “My little bundle of joy ‘MONTERO’ is due September 17, 2021.”

The rapper is naturally referring to his long-awaited debut studio album, Montero, which is set to drop on Friday, Sept. 17. In a follow-up to the tweet, Lil Nas shared another photo, this time of a sonogram. Instead of a fetus, however, the fake photo showed the album art for Montero gestating before its “birth” in two weeks.

In an interview with People regarding the new photos, Lil Nas said that he was inspired to do the photoshoot based off of a lyric Megan Thee Stallion raps on “Dolla Sign Slime,” one of the tracks off his upcoming album. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing,’ so I immediately called my stylist. She was like, ‘Wow, this all comes together. Your album. Your baby.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, this is my baby, huh?'” he said. “As a joke, she was like, ‘Yeah, you should do a pregnancy shoot.’ I was like, ‘You know what? That’s actually brilliant.'”

This post isn’t the first time Lil Nas has played with the idea of being “pregnant” with his new album. In a post earlier this week, the rapper spoofed Drake’s album art for his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy, showing a series of pregnant emojis with their typically female heads replaced with male emojis.
