Glynn County has received notification from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that based on the County’s efforts to improve knowledge of flooding and reduce the potential for flooding the County’s Community Rating System has improved from a Class 6 to a Class 5.
This means an additional five percent discount in standard rated flood insurance premiums for properties in Glynn County totaling a 25% reduction overall for the next three years.
Flood insurance is available to both property owners and renters and has a 30 day waiting period before it becomes effective.
