If you needed any more convincing that Y2K style is back, then look no further than Bella Hadid’s latest look. The model was spotted in New York in one of the decade’s most divisive denim trends: a low-rise patchwork skirt, finished off with a string belt.

Known for her penchant for all things vintage, Hadid’s early aughts skirt – which she paired with a camel slip top and black leather boots – was sourced from her favourite London-based Depop store, Susamusa. In fact, she’s been spotted wearing a number of pieces from the brand in recent months, including a two-piece made from ’90s off-cuts in August.

“Bella Hadid is the world’s biggest supermodel and she’s dressed by the biggest fashion houses, so the idea that she is choosing to wear Susamusa is a beautiful feeling,” Susamusa’s 24-year-old founder Asal Tehrani previously told British Vogue. “It’s also amazing to see her support small businesses.”

Hadid regularly shows off her vintage hauls with her Instagram followers, including a ’90s checked mini dress by Junya Watanabe during her trip to London last month. The model has also been spotted flying the flag for Stella McCartney-era Chloé, wearing a vintage long-sleeved top emblazoned with the brand’s logo. With fashion’s love of nostalgia only growing right now, why not take a leaf out of Hadid’s playbook and make it vintage?
