The discussion surrounding the Chicago Bulls and the former Denver Nuggets veteran power forward Paul Millsap keeps growing this week. It would be great for the Bulls to be able to sign Millsap. But there seems to be a number of other suitors after the four-time All-Star and former member of the Atlanta Hawks, Utah Jazz, and the Nuggets.

Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype named the Bulls as a potential landing spot to watch for Millsap at this point of the offseason. He tabbed the Bulls’ bi-annual exception as something that could drive Chicago as a top landing spot for Millsap.

Chicago Bulls should go all out to sign Paul Millsap this offseason

Considering that the Bulls have a few spots remaining on the roster ahead of the start of Training Camp and the preseason, it makes a lot of sense to go after Millsap. To add another reason why the Bulls should try to sign Millsap, the biggest remaining positional/rotational need for head coach Billy Donovan heading into next season lies at the four.

With the Bulls dishing out restricted free agent and fourth-year power forward Lauri Markkanen to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team sign-and-trade deal last week, the need at the four is very real. The Bulls did add small forward Derrick Jones Jr. from the Portland Trail Blazers in this sign-and-trade deal that sent Markkanen to Cleveland, but he can only play a limited role at the four.

And it might not be smart at all for Donovan and the Bulls to play Jones at the four next season, depending on how much size the staff wants at that position off the bench.

This is why Millsap could be so valuable to the Bulls. Here’s a look into three Bulls players that would benefit most from the potential addition of Millsap ahead of next season.
