In case you missed it, Nicole Kidman appears to have said goodbye to her long strawberry blonde hair.

On July 22, The Undoing actress posted an Instagram on the set of her latest project, Roar. In the photo, she smiles with her eyes closed and gestures towards a vibrant rainbow in the background. But instead of flaunting her signature waves, the 54-year-old actress sports a pixie cut, most likely for her role in Roar.

“On set 🌈 #Roar #FemaleFilmmakers,” she wrote.

After seeing her new hairdo, Nicole’s fans immediately began showering her with sweet compliments in the Instagram comments section. “OMG THE HAIR 😍,” one person wrote. “I looove your new hairstyle,” another added. “Loveeeee the hair!!!! ❤️❤️,” a different fan said. “🌈😍😍😍😍,” a follower commented.

There were also other folks who were surprised by the change, and many wondered if Nicole was wearing a wig. The mother of four hasn’t confirmed whether she is or isn’t, but she later posted another picture with the short hair off of the show’s set.

Based on Irish novelist Cecelia Ahern’s book of feminist short stories, Roar is set to be an anthology series on Apple TV+ comprised of eight half-hour episodes all told from a female perspective. Nicole is part of a star-studded cast which also features Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever and Alison Brie. The collection of 30 whimsical short stories showcases how women face adversity and discover the importance of self perception.

According to Nicole, Roar finished filming on July 29, almost three years after it was first announced in 2018. While details about the upcoming show are still under wraps, we now know that the Academy Award-winning actress is an executive producer. What's more, there's a good chance she'll be appearing on our small screens flaunting shorter hair.
