Justin Bieber to perform at MTV VMAs

Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber will take the stage and perform live at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, which take place on Sept. 12.

The performance will mark Bieber's first time at the VMAs in six years.

Bieber leads all other artists at the award show with seven nominations. Megan Thee Stallion comes in second with six nominations.

The pop star is nominated for Video of the Year for his starring role in DJ Khaled's music video for "Popstar," featuring Drake, Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration for his "Peaches" video featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon and more.

The 2021 MTV VMAs will air live on Sept. 12 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Winners will receive a new Moon statue that was designed by artist Kehinde Wiley in July in celebration of MTV's 40th anniversary.

Doja Cat is serving as the host and will also perform along with Shawn Mendes, Chloe Bailey, Twenty One Pilots, Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X, LORDE, Machine Gun Kelly and Olivia Rodrigo.

Bieber released his sixth studio album titled Justice in March. He recently appeared on new song "Don't Go" with Skrillex and Don Toliver.
