Twix is unveiling a new flavor just in time for fall

If you have trouble choosing between sweet and salty when you’re craving a treat, Twix’s newest candy bar should hit the spot.

New Twix Salted Caramel has the three layers found in a classic Twix (cookie, caramel and a milk chocolate coating), but with an extra pinch of salt in the caramel, making it both sweet and salty. It sounds like a great treat for autumn days, and could pair well with other caramel goodies, like Starbucks’ new caramel-apple coffee drink, apple crisp macchiato.

If Twix Salted Caramel sounds familiar, it’s because it was released in the U.K. last year. This is the first time, however, that Twix fans in the U.S. have been able to get their hands on the treat, starting in certain stores this September and then rolling out nationwide by 2022.

While a first for Twix, this candy is far from the only salted caramel treat on the market. You’ll find the flavor in everything from Hershey bars and Milky Ways to Pepsi and even Baileys cold brew coffee.

There are plenty of dessert recipes you can try that feature salted caramel, too, like salted caramel chocolate chip cheesecake, salted caramel popcorn or salted caramel martinis.

If nothing quite cures your candy craving like a Twix, however, you can find the candy’s flavors in a variety of other foods, like popcorn and a new Twix-flavored seasoning blend, which combines the bar’s cookie, caramel and chocolate flavors, but all ground up so they can be sprinkled on whatever your heart desires. The brand recommends trying it on popcorn, ice cream, cocktails, fruit and even chicken wings.

You can also find a few different varieties of Twix, including ice cream bars and a cookies and creme flavor that has a creme-filled center and chocolate cookie.
