MMA fighter Kyle Reyes dies at 30

MMA fighter Kyle Reyes died Monday. He was 30.

Reyes, nicknamed "Boom," started fighting professionally in 2009. He put up a 15-7 record. Reyes was part of Xtreme Couture, a training organization co-founded by Randy Couture. Reyes' most recent fight — a loss to Bibert Tumenov — occurred last February.

Reyes' cause of death is not known. He underwent surgery on a torn biceps Friday, and reportedly developed an infection that caused him to go to the hospital, according to a GoFundMe post organized to support Reyes.

An update Friday suggested Reyes was making progress. He reportedly no longer had pneumonia and was capable of breathing on his own.

Following Reyes' death, a number of MMA personalities sent out tributes to Reyes.

Reyes' GoFundMe page — which was launched Sunday — is currently short of its $20,000 goal.
