ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – On Monday, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) held a mass vaccination clinic at the Berglund Center in Roanoke — the first since late spring.

The clinic was available for those needing their first or second dose of any of the three vaccines. Third dose vaccines were also offered for those who are immunocompromised.

According to the VDH’s Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts, people with severe or moderate conditions, including HIV or cancer, are currently eligible for a third dose.

The general public, though, is not yet available to receive the third dose, even after the FDA’s approval of Pfizer’s booster.

This past weekend, the VDH reported nearly 8,300 new cases of COVID-19 around the Commonwealth.
