(Undated) – The investigation continues into an early Saturday morning fatal accident in Lawrence County. According to the Illinois State Police, a 19-year-old male from Clay City, IL was traveling south on Route 1 near Birds, when for unknown reasons, he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a truck driven by a fifty-seven-year-old Texas man. Following the collision, the truck then caught on fire. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Lawrence County Coroner.
