Dolores Viola Provost

December 31, 1924 – August 25, 2021

Dolores Viola Provost, 96, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Aug. 25, 2021.

She was born in Bellingham, Washington, on Dec. 31, 1924, to Henry and Effie (Kosa) Cook. Delores attended Mount Baker High School in Deming, Washington, graduating in 1942. She met Bill Provost in high school and later married him in November 1942 in Rossville, Georgia. They then moved to Battle Creek, Michigan, where she worked at Michigan Carton Factory, later for BB Furniture and then for Puget Sound Power & Light in Bellingham, Washington. In 1945 they made their first home in Everett, Washington, where their daughter, Marcene was born May 25, 1947.

Dolores loved to bowl and did so for 12 years. She was a wonderful wife and mother, always baking something wonderful. She belonged to the Delta Baptist Church in Everett, Washington. After moving to Moses Lake she joined the First Baptist Church, and more recently she was a member of Moses Lake Baptist Church. She faithfully attended church, growing and loving her Lord and Savior more each day. She enjoyed working in the yard, she crocheted many afghans, doilies, et cetera for her whole family and friends. Several years after Bill passed away, she met Ruben Garbe; they were best of friends for six years before he passed away. She enjoyed Ruben’s family very much. Later, Kent came into her life who was her most faithful companion. Andra Stredwick was another close friend.

She is survived by her daughter Marcene Favero (Tony); granddaughters Tammy Berens (Terry), Tracy O’Shea (Brian) and Brenda Buys (Dan Sutherland); seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, her husband Bill, brother Bob and sister Jean.
