Kenny Porter says Caleb Plant has a mountain to climb in beating Canelo Alvarez

Porter would like to see Plant win but isn’t exactly making that prediction.

Fight Hype was able to catch up with trainer Kenny Porter to get his take on the big upcoming fight between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant. Porter says although he’s pulling for Plant to pull off the win he realistically understands that Plant will be up against it as he takes on one of the best fighters of this generation. Check out what Porter had to say on the fight below.

Kenny Porter on how he sees Canelo-Plant playing out

“I have to lean towards Canelo. But I’m hoping, wishing, praying for my boy, Caleb. I’m a Caleb Plant supporter so I’m rooting for him in this fight but he’s behind the 8 ball with as much experience as Canelo’s had in all the huge fight he’s been in and that’ll be a big thing for him to have to deal with. That’s a mountain to have to climb when those lights come on like that and you haven’t been there and another guy’s been there 100 times.

On if Plant will be more competitive than Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders

“I think his athletic ability, his boxing prowess, and his ability to move and speed should put on a better performance than those guys. I would agree, yes, a better performance than the last two guys.”
