Toronto claimed Dyson off waivers from Kansas City on Friday, but his status was in limbo the past two days while the Blue Jays delayed making a corresponding transaction to open up a spot for him on the 26-man active roster. With the Blue Jays moving infielder Santiago Espinal (hip) to the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's series finale, Dyson is now eligible to make his Toronto debut. He'll likely serve as a fourth or fifth outfield for the Blue Jays for the final month of the season, making most of his impact as a pinch runner off the bench or as a late-inning defensive replacement.
