A North Texas animal shelter that is evacuating pets from Louisiana ahead of the hurricane needs your help! If you were thinking about adopting a pet, today would be a good day. By taking home a shelter pet, you make room for them to save more animals.
Operation Kindness said they are taking pets from Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter in Louisiana and needs your support to care for these animals by making room through adoptions of currently available pets and providing pet necessities through donations.
They plan to take in 40 or more dogs and cats to stay safe from the storm’s surge, damaging winds and flooding rain.
The shelter is also in need of additional pet supplies to provide animals with the necessities they need to feel safe and comfortable.
Supplies needed include:
- Cat Toys
- Dog Treats
- Canned Tuna
- Fancy Feast Broths
- Newspaper (used in puppy kennels)
If you would like to send supplies directly to the shelter through Amazon can do so via Operation Kindness’ wish list.
