Lang to run for Rep. Mickey Stephens' seat

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) —
Chatham County Board of Elections member Antwan Lang is running to fill the state House of Representatives seat left open following the death of Mickey Stephens.

Stephens died at 77 on Aug. 14 after battling a long-term illness.
Lang, 24, is the youngest elected official in the history of Chatham County and is the youngest elected Democrat in Georgia.
As we begin this journey to the Georgia General Assembly, I’m humbled by the task ahead to represent the citizens of District 165, city of Savannah and Chatham County," Lang said. "I’m grateful for the opportunity to pay homage to those bold and courageous leaders that paved the way for me and many others, and honored to serve as your voice in Atlanta, Georgia.

Lang is a Savannah native and graduate of Windsor Forest High School and Savannah State University.
