Break out the pumpkin spice: Harvest Festival season begins in Weld and Larimer counties and beyond

As we flip the calendar from August to September, there’s more to look forward to than cool weather and the beginning of fall.

September also brings the start of Harvest Festivals in cities and towns across the state.

From pumpkin patches and hayrides to corn mazes and candied apples, there’s plenty of fun family friendly entertainment for adults, teens and children of all ages to enjoy.

So slip into your favorite fall sweater, grab a pumpkin spice latte and head out for some fall fun at these festivals taking place in Weld and Larimer counties as well as in Denver, Boulder and Cheyenne.

The 99th Windsor Harvest Festival begins at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 with a hot air balloon launch at Eastman Park at 7th Street and Eastman Park Drive. The free festival continues through Monday with a variety of events and activities for the entire family including a parade, horse drawn carriage rides, a church service in the park, beer garden, live music, a car show and fireworks. The city of Evans will be celebrating Heritage Days beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 through 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. Friday’s festivities will be at Riverside Park, 4000 Riverside Parkway while Saturday’s pancake breakfast will take place at 1800 40th St. The free event will feature live music, bounce houses, food trucks, a beer garden and fireworks. The town of Timnath is holding its Fall Festival at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Timnath Community Park, 5500 Summerfields Parkway. The free festival is open to all ages.  A schedule of events will be posted closer to the event. For more information, go to www.timnath.org.

Fall Days at Fritzler Farm Park kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at 20861County Road 33 in LaSalle with a pumpkin house, corn pit, barrel train, food and yard games, fireworks and more. Tickets go on sale beginning Monday, Sept. 13 and the event runs through Sunday, Oct. 31. For more information, go to www.fritzlerfarmpark.com.

The Harvest Night Fun Run and Fall Festival is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at the North Lake Park, 2750 N. Taft Ave., Loveland. The event will feature a 2-mile run, music, food trucks, a costume contest and more. Tickets are $15 per person and all ages are invited to attend. Downtown Boulder’s Fall Fest will take place at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 through 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 along the 1200-1400 blocks of the Pearl Street Mall. The festival will feature live music, a beer garden, vendors, dance classes, children’s activities and more. The free event is open to all ages. For more information, go to www.boulderdowntown.com.

The 5th annual Cheyenne Fall Fest is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1461 Obsidian Road. The event will include craft vendors, food, games, hayrides and more. For more information about the free event, go to www.myfallfest.com.

Take a trip down to the Four Mile Historic Park, 715 South Forest St., Denver, for the Pumpkin Harvest Festival. The festival open at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1 and runs to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3 with a variety of activities for the entire family including build your own scarecrow, an art depot, prairie gems and more. General admission is $16 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, $10 for youth and children age 6 years and younger are free. For more information, go to www.fourmilepark.org.

The Golden History Museum and Park is hosting Autumn Fest at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3 at 923 10th St. The free event will include chalk art, hourly puppet shows, a petting zoo, craft stations and more. For more information, go to www.goldenhistory.org.
