UPDATE:

The Missouri Highway Patrol has released additional information on the early Wednesday morning crash in Pike County, Missouri that killed a Foristell, Missouri woman.

Police are now saying the Jeep that crashed when it missed the curve westbound on Highway 54 at 154 between Curryville and Vandalia had been stolen, and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash on foot.

The crash took the life of a passenger in the Jeep, 37 year old Jennifer Whitehead of Foristell. A second passenger, 33 year old Dylan Day of Paris, was taken by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

A Foristell, Missouri woman is dead and a Paris man is seriously injured in a single vehicle crash on Highway 54 at Highway 154 west of Curryville in Pike County at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The Highway Patrol reports the driver of the vehicle, which according to the accident report in unknown, was westbound on 54, exceeding the speed limit and traveling too fast for conditions. The Jeep failed to negotiate the curve and ran off the road. The vehicle struck a traffic sign, traveled down an embankment and struck a ditch. It then became airborne, struck a utility pole in midair and struck the ground. The vehicle then overturned, striking the ground several times, coming to rest of its wheels.

One of the occupants of the vehicle was ejected.

37 year old Jennifer Whitehead of Foristell was pronounced dead at the scene. 33 year old Dylan Day of Paris was taken by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

 

A juvenile is seriously injured and three juveniles are cited in connection with an ATV crash on N133rd Lane near Liberty just after 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Adams County deputies had received reports of several ATV’s running on rural roads in the Liberty area prior to the crash. The crash occurred when an ATV topped the hill on a gravel road and rear ended a second ATV that was parked at the bottom of the hill, throwing both drivers off their vehicles.

One of the juveniles, a 16 year old male from Liberty, was taken by Air Evac to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis with serious injuries.

Three juveniles were cited for improper operation of an ATV.
