Muriel Anderson, 90, of Bloomington, MN and formerly of Eagle Butte passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN surrounded by her family.

Funeral services were Saturday, August 21, 2021, at All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte with Fr. John Paul Trask presiding.

Muriel Lois Dupris was born May 3, 1931 to Samuel and Helen (Traversie) Dupris. She grew up at the Old Cheyenne Agency, where she attended school, graduating in 1949.

Muriel fell in love with Leonard Leroy Anderson and they were married on May 29, 1953. To this union five children were born: Joleen, Butch, Lori, Leonard, and Karen. In addition, Alecia and Karly were raised as their daughters and Jamie, Jesse, Joshua, and James were raised as their sons.

Muriel enjoyed home life, crocheting, reading, making jewelry, Sudoku, volunteering at church, playing with and making slime, and watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow. Her love for them was always unconditional.

Muriel is survived by her children: Joleen (Thomas) Squire of Prior Lake, MN, Butch (Anita) Anderson of Parade, Leonard (Charlene) Anderson of Eagle Butte, Jamie Anderson, Jesse (Paige) Anderson, Alecia (Patrick) Kowski, Joshua (Jodi) Anderson, Karly (Mike) Neville, and James (Cassie) Neville; brother, Samuel Dupris; grandchildren Jason (Heidi) Squire, Christy (John) Veit, Robyn (CJ) Johnson, Shane (Madi) Anderson, Cali Anderson, Jace (Brianna) Anderson, and Jared (Tiauna) Anderson; and great-grandchildren: Dominic and Adelaide Squire, Aaliyah and Arianna Anderson, KaiLoni, Austin, Alexus, and Kobe Johnson, Brandon Anderson, Sienna Anderson, Lane Powers, Jackson Anderson, Sarissa Schwartz, Deliohn, Carter, and Jace Ryder Anderson, Lenni Dee, Urijah, Alexa, Isabella, Tayce, and Tyus Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Leroy Anderson; her daughters, Lori Lea and Karen Kay; parents Samuel and Helen Dupris; sisters Betty Dupris and Penelope Rousseau, brother Robert Dupris and great-grandsons Dominic Allen and Alex Kade.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Muriel’s arrangements.
