LANE COUNTY—A Kansas woman died in an accident just after 8:30a.m. Wednesday in Lane County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Jeep Compass driven by Karen Deutscher, 77, WaKeeney, was westbound on Kansas Highway 4 seven miles west of Utica.
The Jeep left the roadway to the left, began traveling westbound in the south ditch, collided with a KDOT sign, struck an embankment for a field road and rolled.
Deutscher was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Boomhower Funeral Home. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
