Kathy Gale Rogers
Kathy was born on September 2, 1960, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Ada Kathryn Van Holten and John Harlin McCreary. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Jimmie Leeroy Rogers. Kathy and Jimmie loved spending time together camping and being with family. Kathy would dance around the campfire while Jimmie would grill. They made many beautiful memories together. Kathy also leaves behind two sons and two stepdaughters and their families. Kathy loved her sons, daughters-in-love, and stepdaughters more than anything. Her face would light up when she spoke of them, and they loved spending time together. Kathy also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathy loved being a MeMe most of all.

Thursday, February 2, Paris Junior College in Paris will have a delayed opening at 9:30 a.m. The PJC-Greenville and Sulphur Springs Centers will remain closed on Thursday.

Funeral service of Phillip Morris, age 85, of Lone Oak, TX will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Motley officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Cemetery, Winnsboro, TX with James Morris, Jacob Morris, Hunter Ward, Stoney Gall, Rafael Gutierrez, JJ Brink and Bo Morris serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Wesley and Anthony Morris. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home from 5 to 7PM. Mr. Morris passed away on, Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Christus Mother Frances in Sulphur Springs, TX.

Three Schools Announce Early Release And No School
Sulphur Springs ISD, Como-Pickton ISD and Miller Grove ISD have made the decision to release their students early today due to the intense cold weather and the possibility of the roads freezing over due to cold weather. Sulphur Springs and Como-Pickton will be releasing students at 12 P.M. today, Miller Grove will be releasing students at 12:30 P.M. today.
Senior Center Line Dancing To Be Returning
Feb. 3, 2023- Starting starting Feb. 8 the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizen Center is bringing back line dancing. Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month the Senior Center will be hosting line dancing with Marion Cox from Shadow Ranch for all those who want to join in on the fun.

Meal-A-Day Cancelled for Thursday
February 1, 2023 – With a heavy heart, the Sulphur Springs Meal-A-Day program has decided to pause operations, again, on Thursday, February 2, 2023 due to the continued winter weather conditions. Although we’ve seen periods without precipitation this afternoon, the amount of ice on the roads, grounds, walkways, metal ramps, etc. has caused concerns for safety of driving and walking to doors for meal delivery. For the continued safety of our beloved volunteers and partners, we must make the difficult decision to extend our service interruption.

Sulphur Springs Police Public Safety Announcement
The condition of the roads in Sulphur Springs, due to ice forming on the roadway, on the trees, and power lines, is becoming more dangerous for drivers. Unless you absolutely have to be out in this weather, please stay home or elsewhere and off the roadways. Roads have been blocked by falling trees and power lines.
