Police raid unearths prehistoric flying reptile in remarkable condition

Cover picture for the articleA fossil discovered during a police raid in Brazil has turned out to be one of the best-preserved flying reptiles found yet, researchers say. The remains belong to a tapejarid, a toothless pterosaur from the early Cretaceous period known for its huge cranial crest composed partly of bone and partly of soft tissue. Skulls and partial skeletons of Brazilian tapejarids have turned up before, but this fossil was found with more than 90% of its skeleton intact, along with some soft tissue in place around the bones.

Ok, they disappeared 65 million years ago. But what if they didn't. what if the early tales of flying dragons 3 to 5 thousand years ago were a small group of survivors from millions of years ago. 🤔 Nah...🤣

Please don't show us a picture of the actual fossil. I really am not interested in seeing it, after reading the article.

Weird to me that this article is written for August 25, 2021 when apparently the event occurred nearly a decade ago in 2013, and the studying of the specimen began in 2016.
