A Canadian cargo ship barely missed crashing into a small sailboat on Sunday, August 22, on the St. Clair River.

The near-collision was caught on camera. In the video, you can see the cargo ship headed straight for a sailboat on the river. The ship sees the sailboat with four people relaxing on it and blows its horn five times as a warning.

According to the BoatU.S. Foundation website, five short blasts from another boat is a danger signal. Here is what the website says about blasting a ships horn five times:

"This is the DANGER signal. Remember, that when you approach another vessel and hear either one or two short blasts, and you both understand their signal and can safely let them do it, then you are required to respond with the same signal in response. However, if you don't understand their intentions, or feel that their proposed maneuver is dangerous to either vessel, then you are required to sound the DANGER signal."

Once the four people on the sailboat realize the cargo ship was headed straight for them, they quickly jumped into action to avoid a collision. Luckily, the sailboat crew was able to escape the ship's path just in time.
