Since getting her start at 14-years old, to working with artists like Noah Cyrus, Drake, JLO and BTS, which lead to her to securing her first #1 as a co-writer with “Butter,” Andrews is using her platform to offer support and make sure important conversations are being had, especially regarding women in the industry.

"I think it's important to talk about because it's a real thing," Andrews revealed in an interview with PEOPLE. "I had to deal with all the things women have to deal with — being objectified, and feeling like you have to say yes to a man when you don't want to just because they're in power."

In an effort to spark change, Andrews launched her very own 25-episode web series, The Green Room, last year. The project features various music industry guests as they discuss topics including mental health, personal success, getting sober and how circumstances impact songwriting.

"It's just very cathartic," Jessica said. "Everybody has a story. And stories make songs. My dad is a psychologist, so I grew up with that, and that songwriting is psychology and it is therapy, so I think it kind of checks all the boxes."

She continued, "The things that people connect to the most are the things that are just said in conversation," she says. "If you say something that all of a sudden hits a chord, you're like, 'Wow, if that hits a chord with me, why would it not hit a chord with somebody else?'"

Andrews’ web series is produced in connection with two non-profits; The Jed Foundation and She Is The Music. The Jed Foundation is committed to decreasing the suicide rate among teens, while She Is The Music works to increase the representation of women in the music industry.

Audacy's I’m Listening initiative aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone.
