State Police Calls: Criminal Trespass Incident, DUI Arrest, Identity Theft

Criminal Trespass in Oliver Township

On Saturday, August 21, Punxsutawney-based State Police investigated a report of trespassing at a location on Mauk Hill Road in Oliver Township, Jefferson County.

Police say it was reported two white males between the ages of 30 to 40 years old operating a light beige/brown Ford truck were on a known 79-year-old Gibsonia man’s property, which was posted against trespassing.

The investigation is ongoing.

DUI in Union Township

Around 4:42 p.m. on Friday, August 20, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu in the 3600 block of Summerville Corsica Road, in Union Township, Jefferson County, for summary vehicle code violations.

Police say during the stop, the driver, identified as a 49-year-old Summerville woman, appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to police, DUI charges are pending.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Bell Township

Around 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a residence on Deer Run Road in Bell Township, Jefferson County, for a report of identity theft.

Police say the victim reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be a Texas Sheriff who asked the victim to recall their Social Security number to them. After the call was completed, the victim contacted the Social Security office and related the information and was advised the call was a scam and they should contact their local police.

The investigation is ongoing.
