Today is the first day of school in the state’s largest district, Miami Dade. It is one of the six counties defying Governor DeSantis’ order to allow parents to opt their kids out of wearing a mask all day in school. Broward county school officials have until tonight to comply or lose their individual state funding. Students in Palm Beach county must wear masks on the bus and in class even though 12-thousand parents opted their children out of the mandate.

Apparently the majority of patients being treated for COVID in Florida’s ICU’s, which are 85% full, are not vaccinated.

Florida counted more than 17-thousand hospitalizations over the past week, compared to fewer than 16-thousand the previous week.
Some hospitals have had to turn conference rooms into IUC units in order to handle the overflow.
The state listed 346 deaths in the past week, including a child younger than 16.

Today is also the first day of school for 15 year-old Barron Trump, the son of former president Donald Trump. He will attend Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach.
Barron Trump will be in the 10th grade as a member of the class of 2024.
