The Indianapolis Colts have been scrambling and hoping that Carson Wentz could return in time for their regular-season opener after he underwent surgery. Well, according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic, Wentz is slated to participate in practices this week, starting on Monday.

This is a huge development for the Colts, who had been contemplating whether to start Jacob Eason or Sam Ehlinger when the season rolls around as Wentz's status was up in the air.

This is definitely a surprise–albeit a good one for the Colts–and at this rate it appears that Wentz will be ready to roll by the time the regular season comes around. And it isn't just Wentz, either. Offensive linemen Ryan Kelly and Quenton Nelson are expected to get some work in on Monday as well.

Ryan Kelly and Quenton Nelson are also set to practice, so the Colts are getting three huge boosts back on their offense as Frank Reich sits back and smiles brightly. If Wentz and Nelson are all good to go, that will be terrific.

At first, it looked as if Wentz would miss a few weeks of the season, so this development is shocking, albeit good, for the Colts.
