Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley seem to be in a good place at the moment.

The coupled married for the first time in the late 1990s, but split up before marrying again in 2013, before going their separate ways again a year later.

Now they are back together again and although they've been through some traumatic events together – going into hiding from Harvey and his drug ring, plus the tragic death of young Oliver from mitochondrial disease – their love and support for each other is obvious.

But could the pair try tying the knot again, or would that just be a recipe for disaster?

Speaking to TV Times magazine about Leanne's new partnership with Debbie Wester running the Bistro, which she described as a nice bit of levity for Leanne after so much seriousness, actress Jane Danson was asked if she thinks bells and a white dress are on the horizon again.

"After everything they've been through, that would be lovely," Danson said. "But only if it ended a nice way, because usually when they get married, it doesn't!

"We've seen the reasons they are together, and they do love each other. They've grown up and they're not having affairs anymore, so if they're going to share their lives together, it would be lovely."

Is Danson just tempting fate here? Will the writers pen a scene where Nick and Leanne get engaged, only for one (or both!) of them to go off and have an affair? It is a classic soap trope after all.
